Yesterday saw the passing of a legend in children’s tv – Oliver Postgate.
He was the creator of some of the most iconic and classic programs made: Bagpuss, Ivor the Engine, Noggin the Nog to name but a few.
His programs were made for children but were not patronising or baby-ish. They could be (and still are) enjoyed by all ages.
I still have the complete Ivor and Bagpuss, and some Clangers on VHS. Oh to have them on DVD.
