My Love Is Like A Red Red Rose

Today is poet’s day: Pop Of Early Tomorrow’s Saturday!

So here’s one of my favourite Robert Burns poems:

My love is like a red red rose

That’s newly sprung in June:

My love is like a melodie

That’s sweetly play’d in tune.

So fair art thou, my bonnie lass,

So deep in love am I:

And I will love thee still, my dear,

Till a’ the seas gang dry.

Till a’ the seas gang dry, my dear,

And the rocks melt wi’ the sun:

And I will love the still, my dear,

While the sands o’ life shall run

And fare thee weel, my only love.

And fare thee weel awhile!

And I will come again, my love,

Tho’ it were ten thousand mile
