Qype: Sherwood Foresters Regimental Museum in Nottingham

Nottingham

The Regimental museum of the Sherwood Foresters (later the Worcester & Sherwood Forests) is located on the ground floor of Nottingham Castle Museum and Art Gallery.

The regiment was formed from the 45th and 95th Regiments of Foot, and the museum also includes several Militia units which merged with the Regiment.

It contains several display cases showing the history, uniforms, medals and other items. It covers the period from the units orgiins at the end of the 17th Century, right up to the present day, with items on display from its tour of duty in Bosnia.

There is also a childrens trail, with various items for them to find, including an elusive mouse which moves around the displays!

If you have any connection with the army in this area, then I can recommend visiting this museum.
