There is no parking at the site, so you have to use one of the general car parks in town.
There is an audio guided tour of the house which gives good background information as well as history and detail about the house. The audio tour takes 45 mins if you don’t pause it to stop and look at anything.
It consists of a large central Great Hall and two wings. One of these, the west wing contains the old kitchen, pantry and servants quarters, and now the gift shop. The east wing is the main accommation area of the house.
There is a small cafe and an education room in the east wing. There is also a small exhibition on the Pilgrim Fathers.
One little bit of history is that John Wesley the founder of Methodism preached in the Hall on a couple of occaisions.
